New
to the scene of conscious music through Reggae, a fresh sound, hot energy
and deep lyrics have exploded through a new artist; he calls himself Highah
Seekah. Already creating a wave, we got a chance to talk and get to know
who Highah Seekah is. I-Media: So tell us, how did the name Highah Seekah
s come about? Highah Seekah: Simply, I seek to know myself because self-knowledge
is where it all begins, to attain my highest state of being, which is
an ongoing process. I-Media: Your music speaks on Consciousness and Rastafari;
tell us about that… Highah Seekah: At the turn of the millennium,
I experienced a conscious spiritual awakening taking me forward to innerstanding
Life more and to more innerstanding of Self. Emperor Haile Selassie I
inspire me which all helps me develop in Consciousness; all the Ancestors
before. I-Media: You were born in Jamaica. Did you grow up there as well?
Highah Seekah: I was born in Savanna-La-Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica; my
family was more or less musically oriented; I would sing on the church
choir. I lived in Jamaica 'til age 12 and then my immediate family migrated
to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I-Media: How did your music develop? Highah
Seekah: In High School, I sang on the school choir as a baritone. We did
very well at the Florida State Finals competition. Additionally, the choir
performed at regular school events such as Graduation Ceremonies. It was
during high school that I really became aware of my talent and began to
build on it, with the encouragement of others. It is about making positive
music with substance, not just music to make you feel good, but music
to make you think and reflect. I-Media: What is next for you? Highah Seekah:
More positive music. I’ve been blessed with this gift from The Most
High of Creation and my intention is to use it positively to help shine
more Light.... His music speaks for itself. Strong, powerful and with
much depth, Highah Seekah is an Artist to definitely stay tuned for. High
energy and positive vibrations, his music takes you on a journey. JOURNALISM
